Technical Details
Preparation of studies for the construction of the new single-track railway line between Nea Karvali and Toxotes, as well as between the Nea Karvali railway stop and the Kavala Freight Port (Philippos Port). The Action is part of the Orient/East-Mediterranean (OEM) Corridor of the TEN-T core network.
Obermeyer was appointed as the Design Consortium Leader and elaborated Railway Alignment Designs, Railway Superstructure Designs, Architectural and Structural Designs of Stations and Stops, Civil Works Srtuctural Designs, Geotechnical Studies and Tender Documents for the construction of:
- The new single-track railway line, 31.8 km long, extending from Nea Karvali to Toxotes (Xanthi)
- Railway stop of Nea Karvali
- Railway station of Perni–Gravouna
- Railway Freight Station at Kavala Business Park
- Service Raiwlay Station of Toxotes
- The new single-track connecting line, approximately 5.8 km long, linking the Nea Karvali railway stop to the Kavala Freight Port
- Intermediate Freight Shunting Yard
- Railway Freight Station at Kavala Phosphoric Fertilizers Industry
- Terminal Railway Freight Station at Kavala Freight Port
- The intersecting road network, with a total length of approximately 11.6 km, which will re-establish the connection between the areas – communities located on either side of the railway line by means of grade-separated crossings
- The adjoining road network, with a total length of approximately 28 km, which will provide access to roadside properties, serve the Nea Karvali Railway Stop and the Perni–Gravouna Railway Station, and restore the structure and continuity of the existing road network.
